Rare opportunity to own one of the worlds most sought after microcars. The Heinkel was known as the "Better Isetta" because it was lighter and faster with a smaller motor than the BMW Isetta. Like the BMW there was a single front mounted door to access the interior. However, not to infringe on the BMW patent, the steering wheel remained in a fix position when the door was open. The Heinkel featured a 1-cylinder 198cc engine and a four-speed transmission with reverse, a feature that was rare on the bubble cars! It has hydraulic breaks, a 12v electrical system, coil suspension and is capable of speeds better than 90 kph. This particular has been stored in a climate controlled personal museum for the viewing pleasure of the owner and his guests. It shows 55k orig. miles on the odometer and received a through restoration. It was dismantled and professionally prepped for a show quality paint job. The chrome, whether original or re-plated, glistens nicely. The interior of the car was repainted and finished off with new upholstery to match the vivid color of the exterior. The Plexiglas windows are clear with no major scratches. The VDO gauges look like new with no sun fading and there are no cracks in the steering wheel.
